It was an honour to judge at this Open Breed Show where the marvellous temperament of the dogs was matched by enthusiastic and friendly committee members and exhibitors.My thanks to my most able stewards Betty and Laura and Show Manager John. Overall I was impressed with the quality shown. With very few exceptions good heads and expressions and correct dentition were evident. Majority were in good coat and condition and whilst some could have shown more rear drive movement on most  was pleasing.
MPD (2). 1 & BPIS Catto’s Birselaw Dare To Dream. 7 months brindle. A star in the making. Outstanding head and expression, good stop dark eye, neatest of ears constantly in use, correct dentition. Well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm. Sound legs, well padded feet. Strong topline good tailset. Well angulated quarters with good turn of stifle, hocks well let down. Presented in excellent coat. Moved out well with extension and drive, just needing to settle in front.2. Berrecloth’s Sybster Screenplay. 8 months brindle. Another attractive pup, strong in scull, good ear placement, excellent dentition. Correct topline and tailset, strong quarters put to good use on the move. Also needs to settle in front movement. Lovely jacket well presented
.JD (3) 1. Smith’s Strathview Country Squire. Brindle. Pleased for head and expression,dark eye excellent bite. Nice reach of neck into topline that needs a little trimming as gives impression of rising to tail. Correct tailset, well angulated quarters, moved soundly. 2. Smith’s Rosasovale Razzle Dazzle. Brindle. Good muzzle to scull proportions, large teeth with excellent bite. Correct topline and tailset, shown in good coat and condition. Preferred shoulder placement of winner. 3.Edward’s Thistleview Travis
MD (1) Berrecloth’s Sybster ScreenplayND (1) Edward’s Thistleview Travis Brindle. At his first show and in need of a trim. Underneath there is an attractive head with good eye and ear placement. Fair reach of neck, good topline and tailset. Moved soundly but needs to gain confidence
GD (2, 1abs) 1. Hodgkin’s Russcot Rising Star. Wheaten Masculine head with neat ears, dark eye excellent bite. Nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Good legs and feet. Well ribbed though a shade shallow and needs to drop in brisket. In good coat and condition.
OD (6,2) 1 & BD & BIS Cameron’s Stryveling Robb Ruadh, Red with dark points. Most attractive head and expression. Liked muzzle to scull proportions, good stop,dark eye neatest of ears, good bite. Lovely reach of neck into clean well laid shoulders with good return. Sound legs and feet. Strong topline correct tailset. Well angulated quarters, good bend of stifle and short hocks. Kept a good profile shape on the move. Shown in good coat and conditon2. Catto’s Birselaw Daydream Believer Wheaten Close up to winner and pleased for head and expression, good reach of neck, strong topline and correct tailset. Good quarters. Move with extension and drive but not with the sparkle of winner. 3. Jeffrey’s Sandaig Shearer
VD/B (3,1) Two lovely veterans, owners should be proud 1. Catto’s Ch Birselaw Buddy Holly. A real pleasure to have a chance to handle this well known Champion, brindle. Has a head and expression that must have melted many a judge’s heart. In a short coat so not hiding any of his many assets. Lovely reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, good return. Excellent legs and feet, still has strong level topline and correct tailset. Well developed quarters, moved soundly. 2. Miller’s Birselaw Brogach of Cornton brindle. Pleasing head and expression, nice reach of neck, good topline and tailset.Sound legs and feet, moved with purpose . Preferred the angulation of forehand of winner
Special ‘Best Little Pal’ PD/B (2) 1. Rutherford’s Auchinkyle Gypsy Rose 8 months brindle. Would prefer stronger head properties but has a nice dark eye with neat ears. Good legs and feet and pleased in topline and tailset. In need of some ring training but moved soundly. 2. Rutherford’s Chapelways Cheeky Wee Man 6 months.brindle. Preferred head properties to winner but at the moment has a ‘soft ear’. Nice dark eye, good topline and tailset. More experience will improve movement.

Well ribbed. Good legs and feet. Well angulated quarters would just prefer a shorter hock. Moved with purpose and animation.
JB (5,1abs) Good class 1. Percy’s Winetta A’You’re Adorable wheaten with dark points. Pleasing head proportions, dark eye neat ears correct bite. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, strong topline good tailset. Well angulated quarters, good bend of stifle, well let down hocks. Presented in excellent coat and condition. Moved with style, strong contender for BB. 2. Smith’s Strathview Country Grace, Red with dark points, Also pleased for head properties and expression. Good reach of neck into strong level toplline, good tailset. Presented in good coat and condition and moved out soundly. Just preferred the forehand construction of winner.
MB (2.) 1. Evan’s Birselaw Hit The Lights At Kapplegill. 2. Miller’s Cornton Riabhach Brindle Attractive bitch with pleasing head qualities. Pleasing reach of neck into strong topline , good tailset. Preferred hind angulation of winner. Moved well.
NB (1) Miller’s Cornton Eileanach. Wheaten Placed 4th in the strong Junior class. Well laid shoulder, good topline and tailset. Adequate hind angulation though would prefer shorter hock. Shown in good coat and condition and moved with purpose.
GB (3, 1abs) 1 Berrecloth’s Sybster Summer Nights Wheaten Needs handling to be appreciated. Most attractive head and expression with dark eye good stop,neat ears and correct bite. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with good return. Strong legs good feet. level topline and good tailset. Well angulated quarters with short hocks. Moved out soundly would have liked more animation. 2.Latto’s Minorcas Shoe String.  brindle Nice dark eye, neat ears. Decent reach of neck into good topline and tailset. Free easy mover in need of a new jacket.
OB (6, 3abs) Close decision 1. & BB Cameron’s Stryveling Meg Merrilies Brindle Real showgirl with lovely head and expression. Correct muzzle to scull proportions, good stop, dark sparkling eyes neat ears constantly in use, good bite. Lovely reach of neck into clean well laid shoulders Strong topline with good tailset. Strong well angulated quarters. Moved with extension and drive, perhaps a shade close behind. 2. Latto’s Pinetop Blitz. Brindle Another lovely bitch who showed with style. Pleasing head properties good stop, dark eye neat ears, good bite. Well laid shoulders, good return. Strong topline, good tailset. on the day just preferred the front movement of winner. In excellent coat and condition. 3. Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring Into Summer.
