I would like to extend my gratitude to The Cairn Terrier Club Committee for giving me the opportunity to judge their Limit Show. A special thank you to my two stewards, Betty & Norma for their help in ensuring that everything went smoothly. With regard to the dogs, there were some really super exhibits and I had some hard decisions to make. I was very pleased with the top winners, as they represented what I was looking for in a quality Cairn Terrier.
Minor Puppy Dog (1) 1st Baille’s Birselaw Believe in Now, wheaten, exuberant, rangy puppy, good head, full coat, excellent shoulder placement, good depth of rib.

Junior Dog (4) A good class of promising males 1 & 2 very close 1st Pollock’s Larchlea License To Thrill At Standykes red brindle dog, very well constructed, who presents a lovely balance & outline, excellent shoulder placement, correct double coat, well muscled. Topped with, a handsome masculine head, good bite & large teeth. (BOB) 2nd Templeton’s Larchlea Time To Entertain, straight front, excellent shoulder placement flowing into good top line, moved well, handler getting the best from him standing & moving (RBD). 3rd Berrecloth’s Sybster Screenplay
Novice Dog (3, 1a) 1st Rutherford’s Chapelways Cheeky Wee Man At Kirkgreen, grey brindle with appealing head & expression, moved ok. 2nd MacKenzies’s Corton Crocach, red dog nice size, correct bone, very well handled.
Post Graduate Dog (4,1a) 1st Pollock’s Larchlea License To Thrill At Standykes, 2nd Smith’s Strathview Country Squire Red brindle, nice head, good topline, weight, bone, muscle well distributed, moved well.3rd Chirnsides’ Soutra Little Lion.
Open Dog (3,2a) 1st Smith’s Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle, wheaten brindle full of life & welcomed personality, strong head, firm fit body, good full double coat truly waterproof, moved well.
Special New Members Dog or Bitch (4) What a good idea a class for new members joining within the last year. 1st Allan’s Cornton Riabhach Wheaten bitch, lovely head & expression, even proportions, happy girl. 2nd Baille’s Birselaw Believe in Now, 3rd Bustard’s Forguecroft Dashing Around.

Special Best Little Pal Open Dog or Bitch (3 1a) 1st Allan’s Cornton Riabhach, 2nd Mackenzie’s Cornton Crocach 3rd Dawsons Sybester Summer Nights.
Veteran Dog or Bitch (4 2a) Always a favorite class at a breed club show.1st Sofio’s Aberforth Airy Fairy, grey brindle 13 year old bitch in good condition for her age, obviously enjoying her day out, good rapport with owner, showed well. 2nd Miller’s Birselaw Brogach Of Cornton, grey Brindle 10 year old dog, in good coat, moved steadily.
Minor Puppy Bitch (3) 1st Catto’s Birselaw Unbelievable, very attractive wheaten brindle, showing promise, great coat presentation, excellent front assembly & rear. Good tail set & topline, covered the ground well BP. 2nd Wren’s Larchlea Spirit In The Sky, well presented 7 month old grey brindle feminine puppy, pretty head good size, nicely balanced.3rd Chirnside’s Soutra Isle To Morra.
Puppy Bitch (1) 1st Cameron’s Pinetop Game Set ‘N’ Match For Stryveling, red brindle good condition, coat of excellent texture, pleasing head & expression, well presented.
Junior Bitch (4 1a) 1st Shaw’s Honeyhalls Hide ‘N’ Seek, beautiful bitch, size & balance just so, feminine head of good proportions, straight front legs of good bone, level topline & good rear angulation, she moved with animation, with positive driving action. BB, RBIS. 2nd Wren’s Larchlea Light My Fire, smart bitch wearing excellent harsh jacket, nicely balanced with good reach of neck into lovely shoulder placement, showed well. 3rd Bustard’s Forguecroft Dashing Around.
Novice Bitch (2 1a) 1st Waddell’s Crossbury Angelica, nice size bitch with pretty head and a good mouth, moved well.
Post Graduate Bitch (5) 1st Munday’s Birselaw Firebird Of Stradivarius, wheaten brindle, attractive head, neck and shoulders flowing into a good topline, well presented, covered the ground with ease. RBB. 2nd Smith’s Strathview Country Grace, Another nice bitch, level topline, good coat presented & handled well, 3rd Miller’s Cornton Eileanach
Open Bitch (6 1a) 1st Cameron’s Stryveling Isle Of Taransay, dark red brindle balanced bitch, stood out in class, good outline, pleasing head & expression. 2nd Catto’s Birselaw Just A Moment, beautifully presented with that gorgeous typey head, moved & showed well, 3rd Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring into Summer.
