CRITIQUE
The Cairn Terrier Club held its Open Show in Broxburn on Saturday 7th October 2006. I enjoyed my day and would like to thank the Committee for their hospitality. I would also like to thank my two stewards Betty Shaw and Lauren Muir for their assistance throughout the day.
Best in Show was Evans’ Birselaw Billy the Kid of Kapplegill, Reserve Best in Show Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring into Summer. Best Puppy was Shaw’s Honeyhall Haggis and Reserve Best Puppy Shaw’s Honeyhall Headstrong
MPD (3)
(1) Shaw’s Honeyhall Haggis, 7½ month red brindle puppy, well furnished head with good ear placement, level back, strong hindquarters, harsh coat coming through, moved with confidence and showed well for one so young, BPD, BPIS.
(2)Catto’s Birselaw Daydream Believer, 7 month red puppy with a good head typical of this kennel, harsh coat coming through, moved well, just not as mature as 1.
(3)Hodgkin’s Russcot Rising Star

(1) Cameron’s Stryveling Robb Ruadh, red with dark mask, good head with dark eye, level back, coat in good condition, moved and showed well.
(2) Berrecloth’s Sybster Summer Night City, young cream dog not long out of puppy, well balanced dog with typical cairn head and expression, playing up a bit on the move today.

(1) Treglowan’s Cairngrae Phantom Menace, dark dog, good head and ear placement, profuse coat of correct texture, moved well but lost interest at times.

(1) Evans’ Billy The Kid of Kapplegill, red brindle, typical cairn head and expression with well placed ears and good strong teeth, level back, in good overall condition with a short coat of correct texture, showed and moved well, alert at all times, BD, BIS
(2) Treglowan’s Brenndarcy Danger Mouse, grey brindle well up to size, good head, in heavy coat, movement a bit erratic today.
(3) Chirnside’s Soutra Little Lion
VD or B (2, 1)
(1) Arnott’s Sandycairn A Touch of Class, 12½ year old dark brindle bitch who stood alone today. She has a lovely temperament and appeared to be enjoying her outing, moved well for her age.
Special “Best Little Pal” PD or B (3, 1)
(1) Stewart’s Honeyhall Henderson, red 7½ month dog puppy who is litter brother to BPIS and RBPIS. Good head, ear placement, new coat coming through, moved and showed well.
(2)Leyland’s Russcot Peter Benjamin, red 7½ month dog puppy, similar in type to 1, did not move as well but looked as if he was enjoying himself.
Special “Best Little Pal”OD or B (6, 1)
(1) Taylor’s Stryveling Simply Sally, cream bitch, very sweet, good head with small neat ears, coat in good condition, showed and moved well
(2) McLachlan’s Ailsacraig Play Mate, large brindle dog with profuse harsh coat, not as good on the move as 1.
(3) Leyland’s Russcot Peter Benjamin
Special New Member’s OD or B (3, 1)

(2) Lawson’s Lotty Lulu, small red bitch just out of puppy and attending her first show, needs more time to mature and gain confidence.

(1) Shaw’s Honeyhall Headstrong, 7½ month red brindle puppy bitch with typical cairn head, very feminine, gorgeous expression, well balanced, well presented and in good coat. Very confident on the move and she lives up to her name. BPB, RBPIS. Just lost out in the challenge to her litter brother
(2) Hodgkin’s Rambling Rose, red 7½ month puppy, not as mature as 1, new coat coming in, moved well

(1) Lawson’s Terrafirma Super Edition, red bitch, coat not at its best today but new coat coming in, did not like the table but moved well.

(1) Cameron’s Stryveling Isle of Skye, very appealing wheaten brindle bitch, good head, ear placement and expression, overall well balanced and in good coat, moved and showed well.
(2) Berrecloth’s Sybster Summer Nights, red bitch with a good head, level topline, coat in good condition, movement not as good as 1 today.

(1) Catto’s Birselaw Now is The Moment, very feminine red with typical cairn head and expression, good level topline, coat of correct texture, moved and showed well, just pipped at the post for BB.
(2) Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring In The Air, cream with dark points, good head, length of back and in good condition, moved well.
(3) Hodgkin’s Birselaw Supastar Via Russcot
LB (4, 2)
(1) Berrecloth’s Sybster Spring Into Summer, grey brindle, very sweet and feminine, good head, neck and length of back with a short coat of correct texture. Moved and showed well, alert, deserved her win BB, RBIS
