CRITIQUE

 

Not only was it an honour and privilege to be invited to judge the Cairn Terrier Club open show but to enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere was so refreshing. With the help of two able stewards (Betty and Lauren) I had a wonderful day and found the quality and presentation of the dogs of an high standard.

 

MINOR PUPPY DOG (2)

1st Berrecloth’s SYBSTER’S SHIRAZ, what a performer, lovely balanced head, good erect ear set, dark cheeky eyes, scissor bite, good neck falling into sloping shoulders, neat front, level top-line, good rib to loin ratio, well developed rear muscle, good hocks, nice to see the pads of his feet as he moved round the ring, correct tail set, presented well in good coat. BPD.

2nd Catto’s BIRSELAW FOLLOW YOUR DREAM, another good youngster with potential, carries a lot of the good points of the breed, just not as settled as 1st.

1st Templeton’s LARCHLEA TIME TO ENTERTAIN, excellent balanced masculine head with small pointed ears, dark expressive eyes, strong scissor bite, dark mask, lovely reach of neck, good straight front, lovely shoulder placement, level top line, well sprung rib, correct tail carriage, muscular rear with good turn of stifle, well let down hocks, showing his pads as he moved with drive around the ring, presented in excellent double coat completing the picture. BD, BIS.

1st Chirnside’s SOUTRA LITTLE LION, nice masculine head, dark eyes, scissor bite, small ears, good top line, correct tail set, moved well.

2nd Edward’s THISTLEVIEW TRAVIS, nice head, good expression, small ears, level top line, moved well.

3rd Rutherford’s CHAPELWAYS CHEEKY WEE MAN AT KIRKGREEN.

1st Pollock’s LARCHLEA LICENCE TO THRILL AT STANEDYKES, another top drawer, presented in excellent coat, masculine head, dark eyes, strong scissor bite, good  reach of neck falling into sloping shoulders, level top line, good rib to loin ratio, correct tail carriage, muscular rear, moved well around the ring, piped by 1st in Junior who was just a little steadier in movement on the day, RD. RBIS.

2nd Smith’s ROCASOVALE RAZZLE DAZZLE, balanced masculine head, strong scissor bite, dark expressive eyes, good slope of neck and shoulders,  level top line, correct tail set, did not want to settle on the day.

3rd Chirnside’s SOUTRA LITTLE LION.

1st Munday’s STRADIVARIUS SONATA, the oldest of the veterans but still knew how to strut her stuff, balanced feminine head, kept using her small pointed ears, dark eyes, scissor bite, nice shoulder placement, good rib to loin, level top line, correct tail set, presented in good harsh coat, showed good feet when moving, muscular rear,. BB, BOS.

2nd Jeffrey’s SANDAIG SUILEAN another bitch who enjoyed her day by strutting her stuff, moved with drive, feminine head with dark expressive eyes, scissor bite, god front, level top line, nice rib to loin, muscular rear, presented in harsh coat.

2nd Dawson’s SYBSTER SAUVIGNON, another feminine bitch with dark eyes, scissor bite, neat ear set, good reach of neck, nice rib to loin, moved well around the ring.

1st Wren’s LARCHLEA SPIRIT IN THE SKY this feminine bitch impressed me as one who will be noticed for high awards in the near future, presented in good harsh coat, dark mask, lovely balanced head with correct ear set, expressive  dark eyes, strong scissor bite, good reach of neck falling into good sloping shoulders, straight front, correct rib to loin ratio, level top line, correct tail carriage, nice feet, muscular rear giving good drive. BP. RBB.
